Since 2001, Cine Qua Non has organized a short film festival: the Golden Reel. Until now, the event took place over two days. We screened short films continuously on campus before presenting a public and jury prize (composed of cinema professionals) at a closing ceremony. The winners received a financial reward and could hope to gain visibility.
Last year, we opened the closing ceremony to people outside of ESSEC. However, we wanted to go further to democratize this event.
From June 2 to 7, 2024, the ESSEC Film Festival will take place. More ambitious, this festival will now span a week and is an extension of the Golden Reel festival. We want to generate general enthusiasm around cinema, at ESSEC and in the Cergy-Pontoise agglomeration, but our primary goal remains to make cinema accessible.
To do this, we plan to organize free events related to the 7th art on the ESSEC campus and in the cinemas of neighboring cities.
